Your member access mode decides how new players get into your community. You set this from Settings > Memberships.
The Three Ways Players Can Join
- Open sign-up โ Anyone with your Portal link (
{slug}.mahjpass.com) can create an account and join right away. - Request access โ Players ask to join, and you approve or decline each request before they get in.
- Invitation โ You send a direct invitation, and only people you invite can create an account. You can send invitations at any time, no matter which mode you're in.
Where to Set It
- From the sidebar, tap or click Settings, then open Memberships.
- Choose whether new players can join on their own or need your approval. When approval is required, players must request access and you approve each one before they can join.
- Save your changes.
๐ก Tip: For an invitation-only community, require approval (or simply share invitations instead of your public Portal link) so no one can join without you.
Which Should I Choose?
| Your situation | Recommended mode |
|---|---|
| Private club with a fixed group | Invitation โ invite players directly |
| You want to screen new players first | Request access โ approve each request |
| Open, growing community | Open sign-up โ let anyone join |
