There are three ways players discover your games and register with you on Omahji: your Portal, the player app, and website embeds. These aren't either/or choices โ most instructors use all three together, and every Omahji account comes with a Portal the moment you finish setup.
This article gives you the big picture. Each channel has its own section in Connect with step-by-step guides.
๐ You don't have to pick one. Your Portal is always on, the app adds convenience and notifications for your regulars, and embeds let you reach players on a website you already have.
At a glance
| Channel | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Portal | Your own branded Omahji website | Everyone โ it's built in and always available |
| App | The Omahji player app for iPhone & Android | Regular players who want quick access and reminders |
| Embed | Your live offerings shown on your own website | Instructors who already have a website |
1. Your Portal
Every Omahji account includes a free, mobile-first Portal โ your own branded website at an address like yourclub.mahjpass.com. It's created automatically from your business name during setup.
On your Portal, players can:
- Browse your games, events, leagues, and sessions
- Register and pay online
- Join as a member and manage their membership
- View seating and make seat requests
There's nothing for players to install โ your Portal works in any web browser. Just share the link in an email, a social post, or a QR code on a flyer. You control how it looks โ your brand colors, logo, hero image, bio, testimonials, FAQs, and which offerings appear โ all from the Connect page.
๐ก Your Portal is the home base for everything else. The player app and your website embeds both point players back to it. To customize yours, see Finding and sharing your Portal link plus the Portal guides on your header, appearance, and sections.
2. The player app
The Omahji player app gives your members a native experience on iPhone and Android. It shows the same offerings and registration as your Portal, with the added convenience of an installed app and push notifications for new games, reminders, and waitlist openings.
Players install the app once and can belong to more than one Omahji community, so it's a great fit for regulars who play with you often.
See The Omahji player app for how players download it, connect using your instructor code, and what they can do.
3. Website embeds
Already have your own website โ WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or anything else? With embeds, you can show your live Omahji offerings right on it using a small snippet of code.
Players see your up-to-date schedule on your own site and tap through to register and pay in your branded checkout. Your website stays your storefront, and Omahji handles the bookings and payments behind the scenes.
See Showing your offerings on your own website to set one up.
How they work together
You don't have to choose a single channel โ they complement each other:
- Portal is your always-on home base. Every account has one.
- App adds convenience and notifications for players who come back often.
- Embed meets new players where they already are: your existing website.
A common setup is to customize your Portal first, share its link everywhere, encourage regulars to install the app, and embed your offerings on your existing website so visitors can register without leaving it.
