The onboarding wizard is the first thing you'll see after creating your Omahji account. It walks you through the essential setup steps so your account is ready to go in about two minutes.
What to Expect
The wizard appears as a full-screen overlay the first time you sign in. Depending on your choices, you'll go through 5 to 10 steps. The wizard adapts — if you choose a Starter plan, you'll see fewer steps. If you choose Pro or Studio with existing members, you'll see a few extra steps to configure membership access.
You can skip the wizard at any time and come back to it later. Your progress won't be saved until you finish, but you can always configure these settings manually from the Settings page.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1. Welcome
A simple greeting screen. Tap Let's Go to begin.
2. Choose Your Plan
Pick a subscription plan — Starter, Pro, or Studio. Each plan card shows pricing, player limits, and included features. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no credit card is required.
3. Business Name
Enter the name of your mahjong group or business. Omahji automatically generates a web address for your member portal based on this name — for example, chicagomahjongclub.mahjpass.com.
4. Choose Your Offerings
Select what you'll offer through your portal. Options include Games, Events, Leagues, and Private Sessions (some may be coming soon). You can pick one or more.
5. Planning to Expand? (Conditional)
If you selected only one offering, the wizard asks whether you plan to add more in the future. This is just informational — you can always add offerings later.
6. Do You Have Existing Members? (Pro & Studio Only)
If you're on the Pro or Studio plan, the wizard asks whether you already have a group of members. If you choose Yes, three additional steps appear to configure membership. If you choose Not yet, the wizard skips ahead to the review.
7. Set Access Levels (If Members = Yes)
For each offering, choose who can see and register:
- Open Registration — Anyone can see and register
- Members Only — Anyone can browse, but only members can register
- Private — Only members can view and register
You can also toggle whether each offering appears on your landing page.
8. How Do Members Join? (If Members = Yes)
Choose how people become members:
- Open sign-up — Anyone can sign up on your site
- Request access — People submit a request for you to approve
- Invite only — You manually add members
9. Membership Billing (If Members = Yes)
Decide whether membership is free or paid. If you choose paid, you can set up a plan name, price, billing cycle (monthly, 6-month, or annual), and whether it's a recurring subscription or a one-time payment.
10. Review & Launch
See a summary of everything you configured. When you're ready, tap Launch My Account to save all your settings and celebrate with a burst of confetti.
You can change any of these settings later from the Settings page. The onboarding wizard is just a fast way to get started.
What Happens After Launch
After launching, you'll see the Launch Checklist in the top navigation bar — a step-by-step guide to finish setting up your account. The wizard handles the first four items automatically, and the checklist walks you through the rest.
