Push notifications are the app's biggest advantage — they let players know the moment something happens, without an email.
What triggers a notification
When a player has the app installed and notifications turned on, they can receive a push for things like:
- A new game, event, or league you post
- A reminder before a game they're registered for
- A waitlist opening when a seat frees up for something they're waiting on
Turning notifications on (for players)
New to the app? Set it up first with Downloading and signing in to the Omahji app. The first time you open the app, your phone asks whether to allow notifications — tap Allow. If you skipped that, you can turn them on anytime from your phone's settings:
- iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Omahji → Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings → Apps → Omahji → Notifications
💡 Tip: Not getting notifications? Check this first — they're often declined by accident when the app is first installed.
Turning notifications off
Prefer fewer alerts? Use the same phone settings screens above to turn Omahji notifications off whenever you like.
For instructors
You don't send these by hand — they go out automatically as you post and update your offerings. The best thing you can do is encourage your regulars to install the app and allow notifications, so your updates reach them instantly. The app is one of the three ways players connect with you; for the full picture, see How players find you.
