Sometimes a student needs to move a booked session to a different time. Here's how rescheduling works in Omahji and what you can do as the instructor.

Who reschedules

Rescheduling is initiated by the student from their Portal or the Omahji app — not from your instructor portal. When you allow it, the student picks a new time themselves and the booking moves automatically.

From your side, the actions on a booking are Mark Paid, Waive, and Cancel (with a refund if they paid online). There isn't a separate “move to a new time” button in the instructor portal — you enable student-led rescheduling instead.

ℹ️ Rescheduling applies to personal sessions only. See How do I manage personal session bookings? for the rest of the booking actions.

Letting students reschedule their own bookings

  1. Open the session type in Your Offers > Personal Sessions and edit it.
  2. Turn on rescheduling for that session type, and set how much lead time is required before the session start (so students can't move a booking at the last minute).
  3. Save the session type.

When rescheduling is on, a student with an upcoming booking sees a Reschedule option on that session in their Portal or the Omahji app. They choose a new date and time from your open slots and confirm.

Availability respects your timezone, buffer time, lead-time rules, and any Google Calendar busy times — so students can only land on slots that are actually free.

What happens after a reschedule

  • The booking moves to the new date and time. Payment status carries over — the student is not charged again.
  • The student receives a confirmation email for the new time.
  • If you've connected Google Calendar, the old time is released and the new time is blocked.
  • The booking is tagged as rescheduled from a previous time, so you can see it was moved.

If a student can't reschedule

If rescheduling isn't enabled for the session type, or the lead-time window has already passed, the student can't move the booking themselves. In that case, Cancel the booking (issue a refund if they paid online) and ask them to book a new time. See How do I configure personal session settings? to set up your availability rules.
