Once you've registered for a game, your instructor assigns everyone to tables and seats. Here's how to see where you'll be sitting — and how to ask to sit next to a friend.

Finding Your Seat

  1. Open the Portal or the Omahji app
  2. Tap or click the game you registered for
  3. Look for the Your Seat card — it shows your table number and seat

That's it. If you don't see a Your Seat card yet, your instructor hasn't assigned seats for this game. Check back closer to game day, and your table and seat will appear automatically once they're set.

💡 Tip: Seating can change up until game time if other players register or cancel. It's worth a quick look at the game again the morning of, just in case your seat moved.

Asking to Sit With a Friend

Want to be seated next to someone? You can send a seat buddy request:

  1. Open the game and find the Players Attending list
  2. Tap Request Seat Buddy
  3. Choose the player you'd like to sit with
  4. Tap Confirm Seat Buddy

Your instructor sees your request when they arrange the tables and will try to seat you together. (Curious how it works on their end? See Understanding Seat Buddy Requests.)

Mutual Requests

If the person you picked also requests you, you'll see a Mutual seat buddy! note — that's a strong signal to your instructor that you both want to sit together.

💡 Tip: A seat buddy request is a request, not a guarantee. Your instructor arranges the room and will do their best, but sometimes a full table or another player's request means it isn't possible. You can change or cancel your request any time before the game.
