Placing every player by hand takes time. Omahji can do the first pass for you — it fills your table map automatically and does its best to follow the seating preferences you've set. You stay in control: nothing is locked, and you can drag players around afterward.

How to Auto-Assign

  1. Open the game and go to the Tables section
  2. Make sure the right seating layout is selected
  3. In the toolbar, click Auto-Assign
  4. Omahji places your unassigned players and shows the filled table map
  5. Review the result and adjust any seats by dragging players around

💡 Tip: Auto-Assign only places players who aren't seated yet. Anyone you've already placed by hand stays exactly where you put them — so you can seat a few key players first, then let Omahji fill in the rest.

What Auto-Assign Optimizes For

Auto-Assign follows the Seating Rules you've turned on in Settings. Depending on which rules are enabled, it will try to:

  • Honor seat buddy requests — players who asked to sit together are placed at the same table when there's room
  • Balance or group skill levels — either spread experience levels evenly across tables, or seat similar levels together
  • Encourage variety — mix up who sits with whom so the same people aren't always paired
  • Use your feedback — keep apart players who didn't enjoy playing together, and favor pairings that went well
  • Fill tables or spread out — pack players into the fewest tables, or distribute them across all of them

You control all of this from your Seating Rules in Settings. Adjust the rules there and the next Auto-Assign will follow them.

Reviewing and Overriding the Results

Auto-Assign is a starting point, not the final word:

  • Drag any player to a different seat to fine-tune the arrangement (see How to Rearrange Seating)
  • Check the seat buddy requests to confirm the ones you care about were honored (see Understanding Seat Buddy Requests)
  • Use Clear Seats in the toolbar if you'd like to wipe everything and start over

💡 Tip: Auto-Assign can't always satisfy every preference at once — for example, when buddy requests conflict or a table is nearly full. Give it a quick once-over and tweak anything that matters before game day.
